The 2025 family comedy Kangaroo follows Chris Masterman, a disgraced Sydney TV weatherman stranded in the outback. He forms an unlikely partnership with Charlie, a 12-year-old girl, to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned baby joeys. This heartwarming journey shifts Chris's focus from materialism to community and wildlife conservation. Loosely inspired by real events from the life of conservationist Chris "Brolga" Barns, the film beautifully blends fictional drama with the true mission of The Kangaroo Sanctuary.
