Thank you to all the clubs who applied for the Go Clubs Infrastructure Grant, the assessment process will begin next week with announcements made early in the new year.

Community Grant funding is now available for events, activities and projects being held next year. Grants are available for community organisations that are interested in planning events, activities or projects that celebrate initiatives, including Youth Week, First Peoples Events and other community celebrations. With many clubs holding AGMs or break-ups at this time of year, it is the perfect time to acknowledge the stand out members of your club with a nomination for the 2021 Cairns Regional Council Australia Day Awards. Nominations are now open for both the Sportsperson of the Year and Junior Sportsperson of the Year awards. Last year the Aus Crocs U19 White Water World Champs scooped the pool with team managers Mark and Nicola Miller awarded Sportsperson of the Year and the lads from the U19 squad taking the Junior Sportsperson of the Year Award. The State Government is seeking information from your club on the current impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and the data will be used by the department to shape the type of government responses and support available to community sporting groups. All attendance records must be held for 56 days and all information is legally protected under the privacy act. TAFE Queensland have released 3 FREE modules of training in Orientation, Leadership and Resilience. These modules are for paid or unpaid Volunteers or people working in the Tourism and Events industry. They must also live in the north of the state in one of the 39 LGAs covered by the disaster recovery funding arrangements (DRFA).
