Explore the cultural and artistic significance of Charcoal.
Charcoal is imbued with layers of deep cultural significance, from the symbolic and spiritual to the historical and contemporary. The artists at Yarrabah Arts & Cultural Precinct explore this theme through the creation of a variety of artworks that reveal layers of meaning to expose how charcoal is central to cultural and artistic expression.
Court House Gallery will be transformed to emphasise and celebrate the diverse representation of charcoal in stories and rituals while showcasing the incredible talents of the artists in a variety of mediums.

You are warmly invited to attend the official launch at 11am on Saturday 25 May, which features a special performance by Uncle David Mundraby’s Dabul Dancers and the Buri Guman Irribamu (One Fire) dancers.
