Clean Up Lily Creek (World Rivers Day)
A little litter is a big problem!
Are you part of a local club, community organisation or school? Do you care for your local creeks, parks and public spaces? This is your chance to step up and make a difference!
Come lend a hand on World Rivers Day and join FNQ Rotaract to remove litter from Lily Creek before it washes to the reef.
Whether it’s a shopping bag, soft drink can, chip packet or cigarette butt - a little litter can be a big problem.
Join this clean up
- Register online or simply turn up at the site on the day. The clean-up will start at 9am where Minnie Street and Lily Creek meet.
- Bring your gloves, hat, sun smart clothing and water bottle.
- Free street parking is available nearby.

- Register a clean up site and choose a date in September that works for you.
- Rally your group.
- Help protect our local creeks, beaches and bushland.
This Clean Up event is being led by FNQ Rotaract with support from Cairns Regional Council.
