Expressions of Interest (EOIs) open 1 December 2025, with opportunities across art, activities, markets, exhibitions, food and volunteering.

Creation Stations Call Out

Every year, we invite artists, inventors, tinkerers, and creative thinkers to develop and facilitate an outdoor Creation Station activity that encourages children to explore, play, discover and create.

Food Vendor Call Out

Food vendors can apply for the popular family fun day at Tanks Arts Centre on 17 May 2026, with around 8,000 hungry attendees each year.

Mini Makers Market Call Out

We’re on the hunt for young makers aged 7–17 to join our Mini Makers Market at Tanks Arts Centre and Cairns Botanic Gardens on Sunday 17 May 2026.

Volunteer Call Out

Volunteering roles at the Cairns Children's Festival including making props, helping out at kids' arts workshops and finding lost parents.

Young Artist Call Out

Artists under 12 are encouraged to dive into the blue and submit artworks for the Dive Deep Down Children’s Exhibition at Tank 4 Gallery – an exciting chance to explore the unknown mysteries of the ocean through creativity.
