Waste Transfer Stations

Cairns Regional Council has four transfer stations where residents can drop off items that don’t belong in household kerbside collection bins. Household recyclables can be dropped off for free, along with many other items. View our complete listing of items accepted at transfer stations, items that can be dropped off for free or view our sort my waste page for further disposal information.

You can also pre-plan your next visit to your local transfer station by visiting the sort your load page.

Don’t forget our friendly transfer station staff will be on hand to assist you with any queries you may have and help you recycle and recover more to reduce waste to landfill. For more on our transfer stations click the appropriate icon on the map below.
