The celebrations for Cairns Children’s Festival starts early at Court House Gallery with exhibitions and interactive activities launching from Thu 1 May.

About the program:

Tomorrowland

What will the world be like when our children have grown up? Our regular children’s art curator, Sorami Ochi, asked that very question to children.

The Art Cases: National Gallery of Australia

The Art Cases program is a core part of the National Gallery’s Touring Exhibitions program. The program comprises of interactive travelling art-filled cases which can be handled by children and adults.

Star Weaver Pavilion

This interactive installation is an ever-growing, community-made tapestry, where kids (and grown-ups!) can weave, knot, and create using sustainable materials like bamboo and recycled yarn.


Cairns Children's Festival is a kid-centric weekend, designed to nurture creativity, curiosity, and connections to both the natural world and arts and culture.
