Sunday 14 December | Munro Martin Parklands | Gates open 4pm, main event 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Get ready, Cairns — it’s time to deck the halls, sing loud, and celebrate the season together!
Join us for Carols in the Park, our city’s most beloved festive tradition, under the stars at Munro Martin Parklands. Enjoy a magical evening of music and cheer featuring an incredible lineup of local choirs, soloists, and dancers performing all your favourite Christmas classics.
What to expect
- Gates open 4pm
- Roaming elves & Christmas beetle decoration workshop 4.30pm - 6pm
- Preshow entertainment 5.30pm - 5.50pm - Whiskey Boat band
- Main show from 6.30pm–8.30pm, watch from the stage or big screens
- Food vans galore! From doughnuts, pizza, Greek treats, fries and ice cream
- Family picnic vibes - BYO blanket and chairs and settle in for a night of festive fun
- Accessibility friendly - Auslan interpreter, wheelchair access throughout MMP and CPAC and Quiet Place at CPAC
- Florence Street (Sheridan to Grafton) will be closed to traffic to make room for food vendors and festivities

Prefer to stay cool and comfy? Experience the magic indoors at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC), where the Munro Martin Parklands show will be live-streamed to the main theatre — completely FREE, fully accessible, and air-conditioned.
- CPAC doors and bar open from 4pm — enjoy drinks and light refreshments before the show
- Main Show: 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Carols in the Park will go ahead rain or shine, so come prepared with your raincoats and festive spirit! If the weather intensifies and becomes unsafe (lightning or storms), the event may be cancelled at short notice. Road closures:
Florence Street (between Sheridan and Grafton streets) will be closed to traffic from 11am-9pm on 14 December for the food vendors.
