Division 9: Brett Olds - Deputy Mayor

Councillor Brett Olds

Deputy Mayor Brett Olds was elected the Division 9 Councillor at the 2016 local government elections. He was re-elected in 2020 and 2024, and most recently appointed Deputy Mayor.

Cr Brett grew up on the northern beaches of Cairns and has been associated with most of the different clubs and organisations on the beaches at some stage during his life.

He lives with his wife and three of his four children in Division 9 and is committed to positive changes that provide long-term benefits to his community.

His working life includes varied disciplines as construction, hospitality and real estate. He currently owns his own business, Global Oil Solutions Australia, which works in the preventative maintenance industry dealing mostly with fuels and lubricants.

Cr Brett was previously President of the Clifton Beach Tennis and Ellis Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs and volunteered with the SES.
