Councillor Trevor Tim

Councillor Trevor Tim was elected the Division 4 Councillor at the 2024 local government elections. It was his first time running for a local government position.

Cr Tim is the first Indigenous Councillor for Cairns Regional Council and a local leader committed to paving the way for young community members.

He graduated from Cairns State High School in 1984, where he met his wife of 35 years, Jackie.

Cr Tim is an award-winning tourism professional with more than three decades’ experience. Since 1999, he has operated a motivational speaking business supporting clients with positivity, people and communication skills.

A lifelong student, he draws learning from his involvement with the community, business, media and events.

Cr Tim is a Director for Indigenous media organisation Bumma Bippera Media and Cairns Indigenous Art Festival.
