Green Space Our Place volunteers
The Green Space Our Place program is a great way to get involved in your community, enjoy the outdoors with like-minded people, and contribute to the improvement and upkeep of the region's open spaces.
Our volunteers are a diverse and eclectic bunch of people with a shared passion for improving the city.
They are a hard-working, fun loving, dedicated group who share knowledge, make friends, bake cakes to share and feel the satisfaction of their amazing collective achievements.
With the vision of ‘Building collaborative partnerships between Council and community to promote and develop our region while connecting and creating opportunities to enrich lives’ our volunteers are able to play an active role in enhancing the region.
Supervised GSOP volunteer groups
If you don't mind getting your hands dirty while developing your gardening skills, learning about plants and meeting new people, then we have 10 volunteer groups you can get involved with.
Other nature-based volunteer options
From Little Taccas and history tours, to neighbourhood produce gardens and park improvements, there's plenty of ways to volunteer.
The Green Space
The Green Space on Greenslopes St has been created to upskill our volunteers in growing produce and sustainable growing practices. It's also open to the public on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Kid's nature education programs
Our children's education program aims to connect preschool aged kids with nature through play.
