About Cr Brett Olds

Brett Olds is the re-elected Councillor for Division 9 and was appointed Deputy Mayor at the post-election meeting held on 12 April 2024.  He has served as a Councillor for 9 years.

Division 9 includes part of Trinity Park and the suburbs of Trinity Beach, Clifton Beach, Kewarra Beach, Palm Cove and Ellis Beach.

Brett grew up on the northern beaches of Cairns and has been associated with almost all of the different clubs and organisations on the beaches at one stage or another over his life.

His working life includes such varied disciplines as construction, hospitality and real estate and he currently owns his own business, Global Oil Solutions Australia, which works in the preventative maintenance industry dealing mainly with fuels and lubricants.

He is the former President of the Clifton Beach Tennis and Ellis Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs and previously volunteered with the SES.

Brett lives with his wife and three of his four children in Division 9, and is committed to positive changes for the better in his community.
