Councillor Cathy Zeiger

Councillor Cathy Zeiger was elected the Division 3 Councillor at the 2016 local government elections. She was re-elected in 2020 and 2024.

Cr Cathy has lived in Cairns for more than 40 years. Her passion is to be able to facilitate positive improvements in people, their surroundings and find big picture solutions to challenges.

She supports residents within her division including Bayview Heights, Mount Sheridan (Forest Gardens), White Rock and Woree. Also, she advocates the broader Cairns community and various philanthropic projects.

Cr Cathy has had her own businesses, is a veterinary nurse, and has worked many years with youth in schools and in various not-for-profit community service sectors.

She is currently the Founding Director of BIG Boldlyigo Inc, a charity providing education, support and training for children and women, located in Kenya.
