Applications open for 2026 Tanks Markets

Cairns’ much-loved Tanks Markets are back, and applications are now open for 2026.
Set against the lush backdrop of the Cairns Botanic Gardens, the Tanks Markets are a monthly celebration of community, creativity, and tropical rainforest charm.
Visitors can explore an eclectic mix of handmade arts and crafts, fresh local produce, gourmet foods, and unique artisan creations, all while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of live music, family-friendly activities, and the stunning natural surroundings that make the markets truly one-of-a-kind.
The 2026 Tanks Markets promise another year of engaging experiences, with market days scheduled on the last Sunday of each month except August, where the Father’s Day Carnival on Collins is scheduled.
Carnival on Collins is a signature event in the Cairns calendar and will be held on 6 September 2026 offering a special opportunity for stallholders to be part of the excitement.
Key Application Dates:
- Annual Applications: Submit by 31 January 2026. Applicants will be notified of outcomes by 28 February 2026, with payments due 31 March 2026.
- Carnival on Collins Applications: Submit by 31 May 2026. Applicants will be notified by 30 June 2026, with payments due 31 July 2026.
- Late or Casual Applications: Considered prior to market date, subject to site availability.
The Tanks Markets provide a unique platform for stallholders to showcase their products, engage with the local community, and be part of Cairns’ iconic cultural experience.
