The Northern Pride will continue to play a vital role in developing local talent, providing pathways to elite competition and delivering positive community outcomes across the region.

Cairns Regional Council is continuing its long-standing support for the Pride by approving a one-year in-kind funding agreement valued at up to $274,096 for the club’s use of Barlow Park through 2026.

The arrangement will assist both the Hostplus Cup men’s team and the new BMD Premiership women’s team with access to training facilities, meeting spaces and home-game venues.

Council has supported the Pride since 2011, with assistance increasing over time as the club’s programs, community reach and facility needs have grown.

This one-year agreement also aligns with planned redevelopment works at Barlow Park scheduled for 2027–28 under the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Legacy upgrades program.
