The Careers Fair will provide job seekers, students, graduates and professionals with the opportunity to explore employment pathways, meet Council staff and hiring managers, and gain insight into what it's like to work for one of the region's largest employers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear from employees who have built long and rewarding careers at Council.
  • Meet hiring managers and learn about current and future opportunities.
  • Discover graduate, apprentice, trainee and student pathways.
  • Learn about employee benefits, training and career development opportunities.
  • Gain first-hand insight into Council's workplace culture.

CEO Cairns Regional Council, Ken Gouldthorp said the Careers Fair was designed to help people better understand the breadth of career opportunities available within local government.

“Cairns Regional Council is one of the region's largest employers, with staff working across a broad range of professions that help deliver essential services to our community every day,” he said.

“Council employs people across so many fields, from construction crews and librarians to IT specialists, engineers and event planners.
