Council services during the Easter long weekend

Cairns Regional Council advises of the following changes to services over the Easter, four-day long weekend (Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April).
Customer service
Council’s customer service centre at Spence Street will be closed from 4.30pm on Thursday 2 April and will re-open at 8.30am on Tuesday 7 April.
Urgent inquiries can be reported anytime via the normal customer service number 1300 69 22 47.
Non-urgent matters can be logged on Council’s website or through the free My Cairns app, which can be downloaded to mobile devices from Google Play and the App Store.
Waste collections
Waste and recycling collections will continue as normal including Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Transfer stations and Buy Back Shop
Waste Transfer Stations will remain open every day.
The Buy Back Shop at the Portsmith Transfer Station will be closed from 3 April and will reopen on Wednesday 8 April.
Libraries
All Cairns Libraries branches will be closed Friday 3 April and reopen on Tuesday 7 April.
Visit www.cairns.qld.gov.au/library for school holiday activities.
Pets
The Animal Care and Education Centre in Woree will be closed on Friday.
Impounded pets and lost pets can be collected on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from midday to 12.30pm.
Public pools
Public pool operating hours may be affected over the Easter long weekend. Please check directly with venues for up-to-date trading hours.
