Changed traffic conditions for the 2025 Gran Fondo

The Port Douglas Gran Fondo Festival will be held 12-14 September.
Residents are advised that there will be a number of road closures in place between Port Douglas and Palm Cove on Sunday 14 September to allow the event to be staged safely.
These include:
- The southbound lane of the Captain Cook Highway (travelling from Port Douglas to Cairns) will be closed between Willie Pye Memorial Park, Craiglie, and Palm Cove Boulevard from 6am to 1.30pm
- The northbound lane of the Captain Cook Highway (travelling from Cairns to Port Douglas) will be closed between Palm Cove Boulevard to Willie Pye Memorial Park, Craiglie from 5.30am to 1.30pm.
- The highway will open at 11.30am to allow traffic to access Wangetti (Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures), but the Captain Cook Highway from Wangetti to Port Douglas will remain closed until 1.30pm
- Williams Esplanade Palm Cove will be closed between Cedar Rd and Veivers Rd, from 5am to 10.30am. Resident access will be maintained via Veivers Rd.
