Changed road conditions for Anzac Day

Council advises residents and motorists that temporary road closures will be in place for Anzac Day commemorative events on Saturday 25 April.

The following road closures will apply:

Babinda – road closures will be in place from 9.30am to 10.30am at the following locations:

  • School Street, from Church Street to Munro Street
  • Munro Street, from Knowles Street to Mill Street

Cairns – road closures will be in place from 2.30am to 12.00pm at the following location:

  • Cairns Esplanade, from Spence Street to Minnie Street with restricted access for deliveries to apply during this time. Please note that the section between Spence Street and Aplin Street will reopen at 8.30am.

Edmonton – road closures will be in place from 5.00am to 8.00am at the following locations:

  • Wolff Street, from Fuller Park to Cattle Street
  • Cattle Street to Bruce Highway (Service Road)
  • Service Road (part closure)

Gordonvale – road closures will be in place from 9.00am to 12.00pm at the following locations:

  • Gordon Street, from Mills Street to Norman Street
  • Norman Street, from Gordon Street to Cannon Street
  • Cannon Street, from Norman Street to George Street
  • George Street, from Cannon Street to Sheppards Street

Stratford – road closures will be in place from 8.00am to 11.15am at the following locations:

  • Magazine Street, from Arnold Street to Rinks Close
  • Rinks Close, from Stratford Parade to Magazine Street
  • No access to Arnold Street from Captain Cook Highway, northbound and southbound
  • No access to Stratford Connection Road railway crossing

Trinity Beach – road closures will be in place from 5.00am to 8.00am at the following location:

  • Vasey Esplanade, from Trinity Beach Road to Possum Street

There will be no road closures in Edge Hill or Yorkeys Knob.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow directions from traffic controllers and event staff.
