Cairns’ major events season is underway, with a strong 2026 calendar set to deliver significant economic, social and cultural benefits for the region.

From world-class sporting events to vibrant festivals and cultural celebrations, the year ahead will see Cairns host a steady pipeline of major events that attract visitors, support local jobs and bring the community together.

Events confirmed for 2026 include:

• Cairns Rainforest Rumble
• IRONMAN Cairns
• 7Cairns Marathon Festival
• Australian Festival of Chamber Music
• Cairns Italian Festival
• Cairns Super Carnival
• AFLW Hawthorn Match
• Cairns Fashion Week

Together, these events will activate streets, parks and venues year-round, driving visitation and generating flow‑on benefits for accommodation providers, event services, local tourism operators, and more.
