Commercial activities on Council land

Council allows certain commercial activities to occur on Council land or roads through a permit process. The commercial activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Roadside vending – mobile or stationary
  • Goods for sale
  • Footpath dining
  • Aircraft take offs and landings
  • Skydiving landings
  • Commercial filming or photography
  • Commercial activities for participants where the purpose is for sport, recreation, tourism or education
  • Commercial training or tours (such as fitness classes or personal training).

We regulate these commercial activities carried out on Council land to ensure that activities are carried out safely for the commercial users and the public, to protect the amenity of the community and to protect public spaces.

This page outlines what the above activities entail and details the application process and the requirements.
