About the Individual Professional Development Grant

This grant provides local artist with funds to attend professional development opportunities.

Grants are capped at $1,000 for opportunities within Queensland and up to $1,500 for interstate and international travel.

This grant is open all year round to the extent of available funds.

This is an out-of-Round grant: applications can be made up to eight weeks prior to the activity start date, however complete applications must be received at least two weeks (10 business days) prior to the activity start date. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions as soon as the submission has been processed.

Please note: These grants will not provide funds for more than two people from the same group/act/organisation to attend the same event/activity and applications can be submitted no earlier than eight weeks prior to activity date’.

Step-by-step application guide

  1. Read the RADF Guidelines and FAQs to determine whether your project is eligible for funding.
  2. Have a strong project idea in mind for funding and work out  the timeline of your activities in line with the grant round and guidelines.
  3. If other people or groups are involved in your project, make sure they are available at the right time and willing to participate.
  4. Call or email the RADF Liaison Officer (Council’s Arts and Cultural Grants Coordinator) to talk about your project.
  5. Gather all of the required material including quotes for any expenses to be funded by the grant; eligibility checklists for each artist involved; verification of rates of pay; support letters; CVs/Resumes etc. Remember to also calculate and include any in-kind contributions according to verified sources of rates of pay.
  6. Fill in the online application form - you can click on the button below
  7. Contact the RADF Liaison Officer one last time to make sure you have all of the required application material and your budget is correct.
  8. Submit your application and all of the required supporting material.
