Penda

Big, green & full of beans

Literally. Loves a good snack, especially green jelly and anything that wiggles.

Favourite jam?
Monster Mash, obviously. But also partial to a bit of Baby Shark (don’t judge).

Best move when mum's not looking?
Sneaking extra snacks and hiding in the big rainbow gums for a little snooze.

Home sweet home
Somewhere deep in the rainforest, but loves a day out at Cairns Children’s Festival.

Favourite hobby?
Finger painting… with ALL the colours (including on the walls).

Named after the beautiful Penda flower, Cairns’ proud symbol, Penda is all about bringing smiles and laughs to the Cairns Children’s Festival. Watch out – she’s got a whole lot of mischief up her sleeve!

Zippy

Who is Zippy?

Your tiny, turbo-charged helper who’s always up for a challenge (and a snack break).

Best trick
Loop-the-loops so fast they make humans dizzy. Also, expertly dodging responsibility.

Favourite food?
Spark plugs and solar power… but will happily 'test' your ice cream when you’re not looking.

Biggest Fear
Low battery. Sends dramatic 'final messages' at 5% like a true diva.

Favourite song?
Paranoid Android by Radiohead - because, honestly, have you met a robot that doesn't have tightly wound circuits?

Built for speed, silliness, and serious fun, Zippy is the high-flying mischief-maker of Cairns Children's Festival! With a knack for zipping into places he probably shouldn’t be, he’s always up for an adventure.

Scratch

Turkey by day, DJ by night

When the sun dips, Scratch comes alive, mixing dirty beats with vinyl spins.

Favourite snack?
Hot chips… found, stolen, or "accidentally" dropped by unsuspecting humans.

Favourite gadget?
Headphones and turntables, obviously. Nothing beats the sound of a smooth scratch.

Favourite song:
Freestyler by Bomfunk MCs. Stylish by name and nature, y'all.

Get ready to dance!
Scratch’s signature move is The Gobble Shuffle - part strut, part head bob, 100% attitude.

Diamond

Slippery, sassy & ssssuper crafty

Can turn a toilet roll into a masterpiece in under five minutes.

Favourite pastime
Crafternoons, of course! Glitter, googly eyes, and glue sssticks are life.

Favourite movie
Snakes On A Plane. Finally, a movie that represents! Though honestly, the customer service on that flight was appalling...

Top snack
Banana pancakessss (extra sssyrup, please).

Fun Fact:
Once got tangled in her own yarn project. It was a knit-mare..
