Dive Deep Down curated by Sorami Ochi

Exhibition: Sat 9 May - Sun 17 May
Launch: 5.30pm, Fri 8 May
Location: Tank 4 Gallery

What’s hiding way down there, deep below the waves?

If you could deep dive and explore beneath the surface and swim through the unseen layers of the ocean, what would you find? Mysterious marine life, glittery hidden treasures, curiosities?

This big, splashy question was asked by exhibition curator, Sorami Ochi, who invited children from our region to imagine the unseen underwater world in all its weird, wonderful and watery glory.

The result? A joyful, surprising and delightfully imaginative exhibition as part of the Cairns Children’s Festival. Featuring artworks by kindergarten and primary school-aged children, this rare exhibition gives young artists the chance to see their creations displayed in a real art gallery and to be celebrated for their creativity, curiosity and unique way of seeing the world.

Dive in and discover the ocean as only kids can imagine it.
