Find out how to be prepared for the upcoming wet season at the 2023 Get Ready Emergency Services Day.

Held at Holloways Beach this year, you'll be able to chat with the Cairns Local Disaster Management Group and emergency services personnel who are on the front line of any disaster.

Disaster preparation workshops, family fun and food will be on at Syd and Jane Granville Park, Cassia Street on Saturday 7 October.

The event is an opportunity for residents to talk to emergency services personnel about what they need to know for their emergency plans for the wet season.

Visit the Council stand to get general advice for your property about:

* What disasters could impact you
* What are your evacuation routes
* What you should have in your household emergency kit
* How to prepare your home.

Emergency services will also be in attendance.

There's a free barbecue and plenty of family fun.
