Cairns Photographic Society
As Cairns marks 150 years since its founding, the Cairns Photographic Society is helping preserve this milestone through the lens of its talented members.
Throughout 2026, photographers from the Society will be out and about at events, community gatherings and celebrations — capturing the colour, emotion and energy of Cairns Celebrates 150 Years.
From large-scale public events to smaller local gatherings, their images will tell the story of a community coming together to honour its past and celebrate its future. Each photograph will form part of a visual record, a time capsule of life in Cairns in 2026, reflecting the diversity, pride and creativity that define our city.
