Times: 9.00am - 2.00pm
Location: Tanks Arts Centre - Fig Tree

Step into a world of colour and celebration at The Violet Flower Garden.

This magical garden experience is inspired by the city’s official flower, the Ivy Leaf Violet. Wander among towering blooms, spot our charming scarecrow, and meet our friendly gardeners, who will share fascinating stories about this beautiful flower and its special place in Cairns’ history.

Decorate your own biodegradable cane cup and plant an Ivy Leaf Violet to take home — a living keepsake to grow alongside Cairns’ 150-year milestone.

Perfect for families, flower lovers and curious minds of all ages, this immersive space invites you to snap photos beneath oversized petals, soak in the beauty, and discover why the Ivy Leaf Violet is such a treasured symbol of our community.

Celebrate, create and connect in The Violet Flower Garden — where history blooms.
