Flame.music offers opportunities for local musicians - established and emerging - including music and industry development workshops and paid gigs at our venues and events.
Musicians and performers are invited to register for the opportunity to be programmed for paid gigs at Council venues, such as Tanks Arts Centre, and events by submitting the form at the bottom of this page.

Introducing... is Cairns Festival's annual emerging music artist event held each year on the Esplanade mainstage & featuring an impressive line-up of the best home-grown new music talent our region has to offer, including a headlining Queensland emerging artist.

We.Move CALLOUTS!
If you love to move your body, share your culture, and create unique dance performances, We.Move is for you!
We.Move is Cairns Festival's biggest youth dance event.
Bringing together young and emerging dancers of all cultural backgrounds and skill levels, We.Move is a series of workshops leading into a dance performance held at Tanks Arts Centre during Cairns Festival’s Carnival On Collins.

At Launchpad, The Cairns Performing Arts Centre Studio becomes an incubator for fresh, new creative talent in the Cairns region. It’s a space where emerging artists can present their work on a professional stage with full technical support in a world class venue.
These events are FREE so bring all your friends and family, support other artists, and grow your creative networks on a Sunday afternoon.

Tanks Market Days: Busking opportunities are available at Tanks Market days, held monthly at Tanks Arts Centre on Collins Avenue, Edge Hill, between April and November.
Tanks Arts Centre headline and support gigs: Tank 5 has played host to hundreds of brilliant local, national and international acts over the years. Local musicians can play their own shows in a world-class venue, and play opening sets for visiting artists.
Tank 4 - Up late: On select evenings, we open up the Tank 4 gallery after a headline act, and invite guests of the Tank 5 show to stay on for a nightcap, listen to a local music act and check out the current exhibition – 'til late.
Local & Vocal is aimed at showcasing the region's best emerging original music makers aged 12-25.
Successful applicants get paid a professional performers' fee to play a Saturday night gig at one of Australia's most renowned music venues, Tanks Arts Centre.
The search is now on for the next top young musicians for 2024's event on Saturday 20 April.
