Michelle Yeatman Jilighi Sphere Ceramic 2025
Exhibition: Fri 27 Jun - Sat 23 Aug 2025
Market Day: 10am - 2pm, Sat 28 Jun
Launch: 11am, Sat 28 Jun

Marking its 20th year as a lead First Nations organisation, UMI Arts welcomes you to its exhibition, Freshwater Saltwater, a celebration of the diverse artistic expressions of Far North Queensland's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and communities.

The name “Freshwater” symbolises the Aboriginal nations of Far North Queensland, where rivers flow across the land and through the rainforest from coastal Cardwell to the Cape York Peninsula. “Saltwater” represents the Island nations and Torres Strait people, who are surrounded by the oceans.

Carefully curated to showcase the diverse talents of our region, the exhibition will give you an insight of our stories, songs, dances, culture, and history dating from thousands of years while other stories will bring you close to home.
