Brian Cassey has covered stories and events as a photojournalist for international media publications for several decades. All that time, he’s been based right here in Cairns.

Brian’s trilogy of A Photographer’s Life exhibitions launched with Part One at the Tanks Arts Centre (2017), Part Two at Court House Gallery (2021) and now Part Three: The Portraits at Mulgrave Gallery.

Rather than attempting another retrospective exhibition, Part Three concentrates on the ordinary people (and the extraordinary people) Brian has encountered in recent years; from a bus stop on Lake Street to a wedding party in India.

Evident in all these portraits is the honesty and dignity Brian finds within his subjects, and the trust they have for Brian.
