The Local Government Act 2009 requires Councillors to disclose their financial and non-financial particulars in a Register of Interests. Cairns Regional Councillors keep an ongoing register of interests available to the public.

The Register of Interests is important to be able to identify potential conflicts of interest. It also provides transparency in local government decision making.

A Councillor must amend their Register within 30 days of becoming aware of a change in their particulars.
