Infrastructure

The Mount Peter Priority Development Area (PDA) will unlock development for more than 18,500 homes for 42,500 people. It accelerates the planning and implementation of trunk infrastructure required to support a growing population.

The PDA is facilitated by Economic Development Queensland who will work alongside Council to progress planning details including the sequencing of infrastructure and fast-track development approvals.

Council is committed to ongoing engagement with key stakeholders including residents, landowners and developers. Together, we will create liveable communities with open spaces, schools, health services and shops. Cairns residents will benefit for decades to come from affordable choices to work, live, play and connect.
