Lake Placid Recreational Park
Lake Placid Recreational Park
The Lake Placid Recreation Park restoration works are being delivered under the Sport and Recreation Recovery Grant (SRRG) which is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments to support Queensland communities in their recovery from the Tropical Cyclone Jasper, Associated Rainfall and Flooding 13 - 28 December 2023 event.
Lake Placid Recreational Park is a popular community space that historically hosted a takeaway shop, café and restaurant. The site was severely damaged by flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
Works have now been completed to replace and upgrade the electrical, sewer and water systems, construct a new viewing platform and repair paths, rock walls and general landscaping.
The park has reopened to the public.
