Tier 2 Advocacy priorities

Council advocates for projects and initiatives that support the long-term growth, liveability and prosperity of our region.

Council's Advocacy Priorities are grouped into two categories. Tier 1 priorities represent Council's highest advocacy priorities and focus on projects and initiatives of significant regional importance. Tier 2 priorities comprise a range of important community, sporting, recreational, environmental and tourism-focused projects that will deliver meaningful benefits to local residents and visitors.

Together, these priorities reflect Council's commitment to planning for the future and working collaboratively with all levels of government to deliver the infrastructure, services and opportunities needed to support a growing and thriving Cairns region.

What are Tier 2 Advocacy Priorities?

Tier 2 Advocacy Priorities are important projects that deliver community, environmental, recreation and economic benefits across the Cairns region. While they are not considered Council's highest advocacy priorities, they remain significant initiatives that support long-term regional growth, liveability and wellbeing.

Council advocates for these projects as funding opportunities and partnerships arise, seeking support from State and Federal governments to help deliver infrastructure and facilities that benefit current and future generations.
