Cairns Regional Council has appointed Holly McBride as its new Director People and Organisational Performance.

She brings to the role a wealth of expertise in organisational transformation, positive workforce change, and safety.

As the Executive Manager People Safety and Wellbeing at Fraser Coast Council for the last three years, Ms McBride has been pivotal in improving staff engagement and culture.

With more than 15 years’ experience in Local Government, her appointment in Cairns will ensure the further strengthening of existing strong staff culture and commitment.

Council CEO Ken Gouldthorp said Ms McBride’s expertise in leading organisational performance, culture transformation, and workforce capability would be instrumental in reinforcing the organisational wellbeing and performance development across all departments at Council.

“Holly has a strong track record in driving engagement, culture, and performance across a complex organisation,” Mr Gouldthorp said.

“She has been central to some of the most significant organisational achievements of recent years, including reducing turnover, improving engagement, and strengthening governance and compliance frameworks.

“As Director of People and Organisational Performance, Holly will continue to drive innovation and excellence across our workforce, ensuring we remain a high-performing organisation.”
