Help keep Cairns clean this September

Residents are encouraged to get involved in Clean Up Cairns Month, with community clean-up events taking place across the region every weekend throughout September.

The first event will be held on Saturday 5 September at East Trinity.

Clean Up Cairns events

  • Saturday 5 September – East Trinity (travel by boat from Cairns Marina, bookings essential, limited seats)
  • Saturday 12 September – Woodward Park, Edge Hill
  • Saturday 12 September – Cairns Esplanade, Cairns North
  • Sunday 13 September – Glenoma Park/Freshwater Creek, Brinsmead
  • Sunday 13 September – Norman Park to Greenpatch, Gordonvale
  • Saturday 19 September – Rotary Park/Babinda Creek, Babinda
  • Sunday 20 September – Cairns CBD
  • Saturday 26 September – Moody Creek, Manoora
  • Saturday 26 September – Yorkeys Knob beach
  • Sunday 27 September – Lily Creek, Cairns

Volunteers should wear enclosed footwear, bring sun protection and drinking water.

Clean-up kits and gloves will be provided.

Clean Up Cairns events are hosted by local Indigenous Rangers, community organisations and Cairns Regional Council with support from the Reef Guardian Councils program.
