Cairns Multicultural Month

Cairns Multicultural Month is the perfect time to acknowledge and celebrate that, while we come from different places and cultures, we all contribute to making Cairns a wonderful place to live.

Join us in celebrating the diversity of Cairns as we gather for a family movie night at Harald Falge Park on Friday 18 August. This event is a partnership with between Community Support and Creative Life teams at Council, as part of the Moving Picture Nights Series.

The event kicks off at 5pm with children’s activities provided by AFL Queensland, free sausage sizzle from Sunbus and delicious traditional cultural foods from African, Ukrainian, and Fijian community groups.

Lay out your picnic blanket, sit back and relax. Cultural dances startat 5:30pm, followed by an acoustic live performance by a local emerging musician, Chris Whitchurch.

Council offers a number of Community Grants to support cultural associations, community service providers and organisations to deliver multicultural activities and events in Cairns.
