Up to $25,000

This grant assists community not-for-profit organisations deliver events and activities that enhance the lives of local communities, celebrate important community occasions and provide opportunities to develop social cohesion and connection in the Cairns region.

Before you apply

Applicants must discuss their event or activity with a member of Council’s Community Partnerships team before submitting an application.

Ready to apply? Use this checklist before you begin:

I have contacted a member of the Community Partnerships team to discuss my event or activity is eligible &/or a fit for the Community Partnerships grant stream
I have read the following Council documents to ensure I understand the community’s values, goals and Council’s priorities.
- Community Grant General Policy
- community-partnerships-grant-booklet.pdf
I have considered how my event or activity will benefit to the broader community and that there is a genuine need for Council financial support
I have the following supporting documentation ready to provide with application:
- Evidence of Not-for-Profit status
- Most recent financial statements
- Certificate of Public Liability Insurance

If you have answered ‘yes’ to all these questions, you are ready to apply.

How to apply

Applications must be completed via Council’s online portal.

Community Partnerships Grant (for hiring of a Council venue and its associated resources)

Organisations requesting assistance with the hiring of a Council venue and its associated resources up to $5,000 are eligible to apply at any time of the year. Ideally applications need to be lodged at least six weeks prior to the start of the event or activity occurring.
