Our Cairns 2024

We invited the Cairns community to have a say and help to guide your Council's priorities. The 2024 Our Cairns survey was open for responses from 17 July to 30 August 2024. It was conducted by independent consultancy, Taverner Research.

The Our Cairns Youth survey (aimed at local young people aged 14 to 24 years old) was open for responses from 9 August to 20 September 2024.

The insights gathered from this extensive and detailed community survey will give Council a deeper understanding of resident perspectives and inform the next Corporate Plan. The results will help us improve services and prioritise initiatives for a better Cairns.

A total of 10,518 Cairns residents participated in the 2024 Our Cairns survey.

Our Cairns Youth Survey 2024

From 9 August to 20 September 2024, we invited local young people aged 14 to 24 years old to have a say and help guide Council's priorities.  The Our Cairns Youth Survey collected 1,010 responses with key results bench marked  against the 2020 survey.

From 28 August to 16 October 2020, Council undertook the largest and most comprehensive community survey the organisation had ever done. In addition to the main survey, the Our Cairns Youth Survey was also conducted for the first time. A total of 8065 people responded to both surveys: 6786 completed the Our Cairns Survey, whilst 1279 people responded to the Youth Survey.
