Shaping the future of one of Australia’s premier tropical gardens

The Cairns Botanic Gardens is one of Australia’s premier Botanic Gardens, showcasing a wide variety of native tropical and exotic plant species.

In consultation with the community, Council has undertaken a review of the Cairns Botanic Gardens Masterplan 2005, creating a new updated vision that will:

  • Create new and exciting visitor experiences
  • Improve connectivity and access
  • Upgrade facilities and operations
  • Adapt to a changing climate
  • Strengthen the Gardens as a regional destination
