Mother's Day Classic Cairns

Be part of the Mother of all Classics on Sunday 12 May 2024 by registering for the Cairns Mother’s Day Classic (MDC) walk or run event!

The annual event has been held in major and regional locations since 1998, and in this time has donated $44 million dollars to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The 2024 event is raising money for breast and ovarian cancer research. Why? Because each day 12 women lose their lives to these cancers.

Held on Mother’s Day, the Cairns Mother’s Day Classic provides the community a chance to raise awareness, vital funds for research, and honour those touched by breast and ovarian cancers. As one of up to 80 running and walking events across the country, the Mother’s Day Classic Cairns will be BIG on community spirit!

The event starts and ends at Coconut Grove (located just to the north of the Fun Ship Playground) on the Cairns Esplanade. It will run south along the Esplanade, looping back north to the finish line at Coconut Grove.
