A weekend of French Cinema in Cairns. This year sees 8 formidable films on offer with a great line-up..

The Alliance Française de Cairns is thrilled to announce the much-awaited 2024 French Film Festival. This popular event provides a rare opportunity to enjoy a taste of French movies not being released for general viewing in the region. This annual event is fast becoming a part of Cairns cultural landscape and is a great opportunity to unite lovers of French cinema here in Cairns.

The movies selected are crowd pleasing, award-winning box office successes that will appeal to all tastes. All movies have English sub-titles.

The festival delivers on two fronts: global French stars and a vibrant array of big screen stories. Come along and soak up the French atmosphere whilst enjoying a pre-screening glass of sparkling wine and French themed canapes on the opening night (Friday 10 May at 8 pm) with The Three Musketeers - D’Artagnan  or choose from a broad selection across the 3 days of May 10-12.

This year again, a special pre-festival screening of Àma Gloria will be featured to attract Cairns students learning French.

The 2024 French Film Festival is presented by Alliance Française de Cairns, a not-for-profit association dedicated to the promotion of the French language and culture in Far North Queensland.
