Westcourt Walking Network Plan
A Walking Network Plan is being developed for Westcourt to encourage walking as an easy choice for everyone, every day. It aims to connect key destinations with comfortable, direct, safe, and accessible routes within a 2km catchment around DFO as a primary attractor for the neighbourhood.
The 2km study area shown in the map below will be referred to in the survey as the ‘Area'.Key stakeholders, as well as the broader local community, are being engaged to understand better local user perceptions about the existing conditions as well as individual needs and aspirations for walking in Westcourt.
We recently conducted a survey to capture feedback and better understand local user perceptions about the existing walking environment in Westcourt as well as individual needs and aspirations for improving pedestrian connectivity.
The 105 responses received will ensure the development of a responsive and well-informed Walking Network Plan for a 2km catchment area around DFO, Cairns.
We would like to thank those participants for their time and valuable feedback, which will help shape the local environment in Westcourt.
This project is proudly funded in part (50%) by the Queensland Government’s Walking Local Government Grants Program.
