Closure of Esplanade roadway for Matildas World Cup screening

The Esplanade Dining Precinct, from Shields St to Aplin St, will be closed to all vehicles tomorrow night (Wednesday 16 August), from 6pm to midnight.

The closure is to ensure public safety during the open-air screening at the Eastern Event Lawn of the FIFA Women’s World Cup semi-final between the Matildas and England, with kick-off at 8pm.

In a show of support for the Matildas, the Court House Gallery lighting will be changed to yellow for the evening.
