Council will undertake a $2.34 million project to upgrade the Edmonton Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and bring it in line with its other treatment sites.

The existing remote terminal unit control system at the Edmonton WWTP has become less reliable and there is an increased chance of failure.

Council has awarded Alliance Automation Pty Ltd a $1.7 million contract to undertake the works as part of the $2.34 million project, which are expected to be completed in March 2024.
