Support for the Cairns Show

Council will provide $70,000 to assist with the staging of the 2023 Cairns Show.
This year’s Cairns Show will be staged from 19-21 July and is expected to attract about 70,000 people, making it a key event on the city’s social calendar.
The event is projected to attract 750 intrastate and interstate vendors, support staff, performers and patrons, and is expected to deliver a $1.5 million boost to the local economy.
Council has endorsed a Community Partnerships Grant consisting of $45,000 cash and $25,000 in-kind support for the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral and Mining Association (Cairns Show Association).
Council has provided support for the Cairns Show for more than 25 years.
