Council has approved almost $25 million of works to improve the city’s sewage system over the next four years.

Included in the works is a new $8.5 million pumping station to be constructed in Woree to replace the 47-year-old asset currently servicing the White Rock area.

Koppens Developments Pty Ltd was awarded the $6.6 million to construct the new sewage pumping station, which is to be completed by 30 June 2025.

Remediation works worth $16.4 million will also be undertaken at 12 of Council’s sewage pumping stations over the next four years.

The remediation works aim to maximise the efficiency of the pumping stations, reduce maintenance costs and lower the potential of asset failures.

Koppens Developments Pty Ltd was awarded the $12.5 million contract to undertake the works.
