Crystal Cascades closures remain in place

MEDIA RELEASE

Areas of Crystal Cascades remain closed following an assessment today of water levels, and associated risks and safety to the public.

The closures at the top and middle access points remain closed.

The lower access point is open.

Recent rainfall means there is a significant amount of fast-flowing water rushing into local water systems and the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting increasing rainfall next week.

This increases the risk of people slipping on rocks and being swept away, injuries by debris, or people being trapped by submerged objects.

Council will continue to regularly monitor the site in order to determine when it is safe to reopen the access points.
