Branch removal to ensure public safety

Council will remove several dead branches from two large trees overhanging Collins Avenue, Edge Hill, in the interest of public safety.

The works, which are scheduled for Tuesday 25 July and Wednesday 26 July, will occur near the main entrance to Cairns Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre, between the Cairns Botanic Gardens and the Tanks Arts Centre.

Residents and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes, if possible.

Traffic control and partial lane closures will be in place between 7am and 5:30pm on both days, as well as pathway and cycleway closures and detours.Crews will be on site to assist the public as required.

The café (TANK sixtyfour) located at the visitor centre will be open as usual. Council apologises for any inconvenience.
