Assistance for Cairns Anzac Day services

Council will provide $53,000 in support to assist with the delivery of 2024 Anzac Day services and events across the Cairns.

The agreement consists of $18,000 in funding and a further $35,000 of in-kind support for the delivery of seven events.

The seven groups that have received assistance are:

  • RSL Queensland Sub Branch – Babinda to the value of $7,000
  • RSL Queensland Sub Branch – Gordonvale to the value of $7,500
  • RSL Queensland Sub Branch - Edmonton to the value of $7,000
  • RSL Queensland Sub Branch – Edge Hill to the value of $6,000
  • Australian Air Force Cadets Cairns – Stratford to the value of $9,500
  • Yorkeys Knob Boating Club to the value of $6,500
  • Rotary, Cairns Northern Beaches -Trinity Beach to the value of $9,500.

The financial support assists groups with the hire costs of audio visual, road closures and first aid.
